A MAN has been fined for the possession of a knuckle duster.
Darren Scott Helliwell, 29, of Stott Terrace, Eccleshill, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court earlier this month to be sentenced.
He faced one charge of possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.
The offence happened on the evening of August 7 this year, when he was in possession of knuckle duster at Stott Terrace.
He pleaded guilty to the charge on October 6.
Helliwell was fined £133 and was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £53 to fund victim services.
A collection order was made, while an order was also made to “deprive the defendant of his rights” regarding the knuckle duster.
No order was made for costs due to the defendant’s limited means.
