A TEENAGER is to appear in court charged with a serious offence.

The 17-year-old boy cannot be named for legal reasons due to his young age.

He appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on October 10, to face a charge of robbery and enter his plea.

The boy denies robbing a male of a mobile phone.

According to court documents, the incident happened on December 19 last year, where the teenager is alleged to have robbed another male of a Samsung Galaxy X6.

The offence is said to have happened in the Kirkgate area of Bradford city centre.

The teen was remanded on unconditional bail until his next court appearance before magistrates.

That date has been set for January 12 next year, when the trial will be held.
