FORMER BBC presenter Ian White is to join ITV News Calendar.

He will become Lara Rostron’s new permanent co-host on the 6pm programme.

Ian has almost 25 years of experience working as a presenter and reporter at BBC Look North.

Ian said: “I’m very excited to be joining ITV News to present Calendar.

“It will be fantastic to share the studio with Lara again having presented together in the past at the BBC.

“It’s going to be a privilege to be invited into the homes of ITV Calendar viewers, and I’m sure there will be lots of fun to be had along the way too.

“I love this part of the world and I’m looking forward to meeting our viewers when I’m out and about.”

Ian’s work in television began when he worked for TV-am in Newcastle.

His career at the BBC spanned almost 30 years starting in Norwich, followed by BBC Radio Leeds and then BBC Look North. He presented his final BBC Look North bulletin last month.

Lara said: “I’m looking forward to working with Ian again as we start a new chapter together on ITV Calendar. He’s a great presenter who is passionate about our region.”

Ian will present his first programmes on ITV Calendar on Monday, November 14.
