TWO attempted burglaries have taken place at popular showrooms in the Bradford district.

Four men in balaclavas attempted to steal a motorbike from Allan Jefferies and Honda on Otley Road, Baildon, Shipley.

An onlooker said: "I was petrified.

"When the sales team came out, they were threatening them with a large metal object."

The group was trying to steal a motorbike from outside the showroom, but as it was keyless they were unsuccessful.

Another onlooker said: "They got away with one of our bikes but, one of our guys chased them down and got it back.

"They were threatening members of the public who were trying to intervene with large metal bars."

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called at 1.16pm today to a report a small group of males had attempted to steal a motorcycle from a dealership on Berry Drive, Baildon.

"The males were unsuccessful and left the scene on two mopeds, heading towards Shipley.

"Initial enquiries are ongoing by Bradford District Police."

Allan Jefferies has been contacted for further details.
