A COMEDIAN says he is looking forward to attracting the crowds in Bradford when he visits the city as part of his latest tour.

Rob Auton is set to play The Studio, Morley Street, on Friday, November 4 from 7.30pm, as part of his latest UK tour.

The York-born comedian is travelling the country in his new The Crowd Show. It is his biggest national tour to date and started earlier this month.

It is a comedy/theatre/spoken word show about crowds by the award-winning writer, actor and podcaster.

He has enjoyed two consecutive years of being named one of the best reviewed comedy shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He warmed up for his tour by enjoying a month-long run at the Fringe last August. In 2013, Rob won the Dave Funniest Joke of The Fringe award.

He has also appeared on TV shows including ITV drama Cold Feet.

A clip of Rob performing on Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Central With Rob Delaney went viral with more than seven million views on Facebook.

Rob Auton often posts clips from his shows on social media including TikTok such as proving if a TicTac can fit into the gap in a Polo mint.

The Crowd Show is Rob’s ninth stand-up show written on a single theme. He says he comes up with the title and then constructs a spider diagram with words and ideas associated with that theme.

He has previously performed at venues in Bradford including the National Science and Media Museum during his Yellow show tour in 2013.

He said: “I saw on the news that Bradford had been named City of Culture and people there were properly buzzing for it.

“I feel very proud to be from Yorkshire. I’ve not been to Bradford very much. I want to go to Bradford as I come from York. I remember doing a gig at the Science and Media Museum. I did my Yellow show, which was all about the colour yellow.

“I talk about the importance of people in my new show.

“It’s a unique experience to have people together for a space of time. That’s the magic of live performance. It’s unmatched. “I will never take live performing for granted. It is a privilege to do this.”

The Crowd Show is recommended for people aged 14 and over. Go to bradford-theatres.co.uk/whats-on/rob-auton for more information on tickets, priced £14, for the show.
