A BRADFORD detective sergeant has had his assault case adjourned.
Detective Sergeant Gareth Greenwood, 42, is charged with two counts of assault by beating.
He has pleaded not guilty to both alleged offences.
The 42-year-old appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on October 3 where it was adjourned to a later date for a case management hearing.
Greenwood was remanded on unconditional bail to appear at the same court on October 21.
The charges relate to one day in April this year and it is alleged the incident happened while the officer was off duty and in his role as Temporary Detective Inspector.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said he has been suspended from duty.
