Drivers heading onto the M62 should expect congestion this morning.

Traffic is continuing to build along the M62 Eastbound and M621 with speeds restricted to 15 mph in some sections.

There are delays of two minutes on M62 Eastbound between junction 24 A629 (Ainley Top) and junction 25 A644 Wakefield Road (Brighouse).

The average speed is currently 20 mph, the AA has reported.

There are severe delays of 25 minutes on the M62 Eastbound between junction 24 A629 (Ainley Top) and junction 27 M621 (Gildersome).

The average speed along this section is 15 mph, according to the latest updates.

Meanwhile around junction 27 M621 (Gildersome), one lane has been closed and there are narrow lanes due to major construction work.

The hard shoulder is also closed.

Slow traffic was reported on the M62 Westbound from junction 29 M1 J42 (Lofthouse) to junction 26 M606 J1 (Chain Bar).

Most of this traffic was reported to be in the construction area.

Traffic is now moving normally on the M62 Westbound, according to the T&A's traffic partner INRIX.

Rush hours queues stretched back three miles in early October while some drivers illegally resorted to using the hard shoulder days later.
