EMMERDALE will mark 50 years of being on our TV screen tonight with a dramatic special.
The Yorkshire soap is marking the milestone with an hour-long special on ITV tonight from 7pm. It is exactly half a century after the first episode aired, on October 16, 1972.
The special episode centres around the wedding of Kim Tate, played by Bradford-born actor Claire King and Will Taylor.
A devastating storm rips through the village on their special day and we will all have to tune in at 7pm to see what happens next.
