THE owner of a long-running Bradford fish & chips business has updated its customers on the future of one of its takeaways.
Websters, on Clayton Road, opened to big fanfare in 2019 after appearing elsewhere in the district, namely in Baildon and Saltaire.
In recent days, people have taken to social media confused thinking the shop is shut after seeing a For Sale sign outside.
Andrew Webster confirmed to the Telegraph & Argus this is sadly the case but the takeaway will continue to operate until a buyer is found.
Mr Webster says this is down to him being unable to fit the shop into his busy schedule.
"We have been up for sale for a while. The board has just gone up outside that's all," he said.
"I have just got other commitments - a coffee shop in Eldwick and other fish shops.
"I have also got a young family so something had to go.
"We are carrying on until it sells. We are not closing down. It is business as usual for now."
Mr Webster has worked at the family firm for more than two decades.
Previous to Websters taking gaining ownership, the location was run by Clayton's Catch.
