POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was hit by a car on a major Bradford route.

It happened at about 12.13pm on Saturday (October 8), when a blue Vauxhall Corsa was in collision with a male pedestrian on Mayo Avenue, West Yorkshire Police said.

A spokesperson said: "The male, 25, was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a head injury before being discharged.

"Officers are particularly keen to speak with a male pedestrian who was seen crossing the road at the same time as the injured male, as he is not thought to have been spoken to at the scene.

"If you can assist this investigation then please contact PC 168 Lalor at the Roads Policing Unit on 101, or by using the 101LiveChat on the West Yorkshire Police website.

"The log reference is 0670 of October 8."

Several roads were closed while police enquiries got underway and motorists were urged to avoid the area.
