A MAN has been banned from driving for speeding on a major Bradford district road.
Abbas Shahzad, 22, of Skipton Road, Keighley, faced one charge of exceeding a 50mph speed limit in contravention of a local traffic order – manned equipment.
Shahzad was caught driving a vehicle at a speed exceeding 50mph when he was clocked at 85mph on Sir Fred Hoyle Way, otherwise known as Bingley Bypass.
He was disqualified from holding, or obtaining, a driving licence for 40 days, which was a discretionary disqualification. His driving record was endorsed.
He was also fined £180 and ordered to pay £150 costs and a £32 victim surcharge for the offence.
Shahzad pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on September 28, 2022.
