ENQUIRIES are continuing after a truck “deliberately” rammed into a shop.

Dramatic scenes unfolded last Wednesday night in the Barkerend area of Bradford.

People described chaos as the flatbed truck rammed into the Feather Road Mini Mart.

A full statement from West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a shop on Mavis Street, Bradford.

“Officers were called at 9.11pm yesterday evening (October 5) to reports a flatbed truck had deliberately reversed into the shop causing serious structural damage.

“No one was injured in the incident.”

The spokesperson added: “A scene remains in place whilst investigations continue and whilst structural engineers assess the damage.

“Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the flatbed pickup trust prior to the incident to come forward. Information can be given via 101 or the LiveChat facility at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/contactus.”

One man who lives close to the scene told the Telegraph & Argus: “We were sat watching television and we heard a loud bang.

“We thought it was firecrackers, but then I looked out of the window. I could see lots of people about, I could see the shop had been rammed.

“It was chaos.”
