A NEW Lidl supermarket is set to be on its way to the Bradford district.
The store would be based on the former Hope Mills site, off Greengate Road in Keighley.
The venture would create around 40 jobs for local people - all paid at least £10.90 per hour.
Lidl UK are currently preparing a detailed planning application to submit to Bradford Council in the coming months.
The 1,251 sq m sales area would include modern in-store facilities such as a bakery and customer toilets.
There will be a 99-space car park and two Electric Vehicle Charging spaces (with capacity for more).
Landscaping across the site will include tree planting while there will also be an upgraded vehicular entrance and a widened footpath.
Keighley Central Ward Councillor Mohsin Hussain said: "Following a public consultation with local residents, I have had a meeting with Lidl Project Managers, Consultants and Planning Managers where I raised a number of questions to ensure the new store would benefit Keighley and local residents.
"It's great to see so many residents taking part in the initial consultation, 94 per cent supporting the project."
