A WOMAN has been jailed and banned from a Bradford supermarket for stealing toy dolls.

Amanda Edmondson, 49, of Burneston Gardens, Bradford, faced a charge of theft from a shop.

She stole two LOL dolls, to the value of £28, from Tesco, Halifax Road, Buttershaw, Bradford, on June 20, 2022.

Edmondson was committed to prison for two weeks. The offence was deemed so serious because it was aggravated by the defendant’s record of previous offending.

She was sentenced without a pre-sentence report because she was already a serving prisoner.

Edmondson was handed a criminal behaviour order for five years from September 21, 2022, for the offence.

Under the order, she must not enter Tesco, Halifax Road, Bradford, enter Tesco on Great Horton Road, Bradford. A further provision is that she must not remain in any retail premises within the Bradford Council area when asked to leave by a member of staff.

She was also ordered to pay £28 compensation. The offence was contrary to section 1(1) and 7 of the Theft Act 1968. A collection order was made by the court.

Edmondson pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on September 21, 2022.
