A UNIVERSITY has submitted plans for a modular cabin building on its campus.

Leeds Trinity University, on Brownberrie Lane, Horsforth, said the temporary building would be installed on the footprint of an old existing building that is to be demolished.

Three-year approval is sought by the university.

The application says: “The proposal would see a two-storey building installed adjacent to an existing building.

“The building is required for a temporary solution whilst the university plan for a permanent solution.

“The proposed building will provide further class/lecture space.

“This application seeks temporary planning approval of three years.”

It adds: “The building has been chosen as a result of the flexible solution it provides.

“The modular building can be installed quickly enabling the university to begin using the specifically fitted out space much more quickly than a traditional build, and the building can easily be removed from site with little impact.”
