A BRADFORD man has been banned from driving after being clocked at 100mph on a motorway.
Yasar Majid, 40, of Arnold Place, off Whetley Hill, faced one charge of speeding – exceeding 70mph motorway limit – manned equipment.
He was caught driving at 100mph on the southbound carriageway of the M6 at junction 37 in Killington, Kendal, Cumbria. The offence took place at 6.40pm on June 28, 2021.
Majid was disqualified from holding, or obtaining, a driving licence for six months.
He was also fined £400 and ordered to pay £350 costs and a £40 victim surcharge for the offence. A collection order was made by the court at the sentencing hearing.
Majid pleaded guilty to the speeding charge and was sentenced at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court on September 30, 2022.
