A DRINK-DRIVER destroyed a wall after crashing but was unable to explain to police how it happened.
West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit (RPU) posted on Twitter about the collision earlier today.
It happened in the Halifax area.
Officers found the vehicle at a slight diagonal on the road and it had collided with a wall surrounding a field, just beyond the footpath.
The car was badly damaged, with the paintwork on the right side of it severely scratched and the front-right crumpled.
Around three metres of wall had come away from the impact, with large stones littered across the path.
The driver could not explain to officers how the crash had come about.
Police conducted a roadside breath test on the driver and he blew a reading of 74 micrograms (mg).
The alcohol limit for drivers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is 35mg per 100 millilitres of breath.
Officers arrested the man, as a result.
The tweet on the RPU's profile said: "The driver couldn't explain how he crashed into the wall.
"A roadside breath test showed he was over twice the drink drive limit."
