CONKER fights are great fun. In years gone by children would rush out to raid the horse chestnut trees, whose conkers were about to fall in the autumn winds. They would choose the biggest and strongest and string them up ready for battle. Conker fights are not so popular nowadays and are banned at many schools due to health and safety. But the game is not forgotten - there are still some who love collecting them and having a good game with pals.
