FOOTBALL crazy Bradford gamers have been given the chance to test their skills in a free esports competition.

Legend Gaming, a Bradford-based esports platform, is looking for people to sign up for a competition using the new FIFA ’23 video game.

The single-elimination tournament, to be held on October 21, sees Legend, based on Sunbridge Road, team up with Bradford City and will be played on the PlayStation 4 and 5.

Michael Shackleton, Bradford City commercial manager, said: “There's quite a rivalry between some of the players here at the University of Bradford Stadium.

“We’re delighted to be working alongside Legend Gaming to put on this tournament, and we hope that it brings fans, old and new, closer to the club, and one another, through gaming.”

John Armstrong, Legend’s head of gaming, said: “Legend Gaming has already run a number of video game tournaments on legendgaming.gg.

“As Legend's home is in Bradford, Bradford City is the club we really hoped to launch our FIFA 23 tournament with. We're delighted to be creating this event with them.”

Gamers can win a host of prizes including a tour of City’s Valley Parade home and items signed by Bantams players and manager.
