BRADFORD residents are taking part in a nationwide campaign this September to highlight the need for urgent action on climate and nature.
The campaign known as the Great Big Green Week will see thousands of people across the UK organising local festivals and events.
It aims to draw attention to climate change, and the destruction of the natural world, while also making a connection with these issues in communities like Bradford.
As part of the celebrations a youth organisation in Bradford – I have a voice - is organising a clothes swap to celebrate the city’s diversity.
It will take place today from 2-5pm at Café West Wanstead Cres in Allerton (BD15 7PA).
16-year-old Hiba Hussain said: “The swap is a fun and exciting way to discuss climate change and demonstrate the benefits of becoming more environmentally friendly.
"Anyone is welcome to attend the event, whether they'd like to bring old clothes, take new ones, or just play some games and have fun.”
There will be an embroidery and personalisation area in which someone will teach you to upcycle your old clothes.
Also, school uniforms that your children have grown out of, swap them for bigger sizes or just bring what your child no longer wears.
