A MAN caught with a telescopic baton in Bradford has appeared in court.
Mohammed Usman Raza, 33, was sentenced at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court.
He faced and admitted a charge of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
The offence happened on July 4 this year when Raza was found with the weapon in Hey Street, Listerhills.
Raza, of Woodsome Estate, Batley, appeared in court on September 13.
He was given a community order which means he must carry out unpaid work for 100 hours within the next 12 months.
The work will be supervised and he must also pay a £114 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The telescopic baton will be forfeited and destroyed.
