A BRADFORD man could have £60,000 taken away from him under a crime act.

Kamran Ahmed, 41, of Wellands Terrace in Barkerend has already had an estimated £60,000 in cash seized from him.

But today North Cheshire Magistrates' Court will deal with an application for the forfeiture of that seized cash.

It has been made in accordance with Section 298 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

Commissioners of Customs and Excise, an accredited financial investigator or a constable or an SFO officer can make such an application.

The law states that the court may order the forfeiture of the cash, or any part of it, if satisfied that the cash or part: is recoverable property, or is intended by any person for use in unlawful conduct.
