EMERGENCY services have been called to the scene of a crash between a car and cyclist near the Five Lane Ends roundabout in Idle.

West Yorkshire Police were called at 7.25am today to a crash involving a car and cyclist on Highfield Road.

Police reported that one person was taken to hospital as a precaution.

A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a report of collision between a car and a person believed to be a cyclist.

"We dispatched an ambulance to the scene and we conveyed a male patient to Bradford Royal Infirmary."

A passing bystander said at least two police cars and an ambulance were at the scene.

The local resident also said a car was stopped on the roundabout and there was heavy traffic in the area.

Police have confirmed that the road is reopened.
