A plaque titled Twinkle Twinkle Little Star was also left by Star’s grave. It includes the following message: "Up in heaven is where you are and when the stars are shining bright, I’ll blow you a kiss and say goodnight. Love you always.”

David Fawcett and his partner, Anita Smith, Star’s great-grandparents, went to Star’s resting place today, to leave further tributes.

He said: “It hit us all today.

“We have had people fetching balloons for Star too. It is two years now, I can’t believe it.

“She will always be there. The grave looks lovely. We wanted to make the day special for her.

“I can remember really well what was happening the day she died and we found out. We were having a barbecue that day.

“We’re trying to get ourselves together. It’s just so hard.”

Star’s family gave an insight into the grief they still try to cope with on a daily basis earlier this week.

Mr Fawcett revealed Anita kisses a photograph of Star in her home first thing in the morning and last thing at night of each day.

Savannah Brockhill, 28, the girlfriend of Star's mother Frankie Smith, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 25 years for the murder of Star at their flat in Wesley Place Keighley, on September 22, 2020.

Meanwhile, Smith, 20, was initially jailed for eight years for causing, or allowing, her death following a trial at Bradford Crown Court in December last year.

But this eight-year sentence was quashed in March at the Court of Appeal, and extended to 12 years which she must serve in a Young Offender's Institution.
