A MAN has appeared in court charged with using someone else’s bank card in a store at a Bradford shopping centre.
Benjamin Murphy, 29, of Sunbridge Road, Bradford, was handed a community order for two charges.
He was convicted for a charge of burglary other than dwelling – theft. Having entered Cupp Bubble Tea, The Broadway, Bradford, he stole various items from a handbag to a value unknown, on July 2, 2022. Murphy was ordered to pay a £114 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
He also faced a second charge of fraud by false representation – Fraud Act 2006. He committed fraud, namely by using a bank card that does not belong to him, intending to make a gain, namely to obtain items from shops, for himself. This was at Cupp Bubble Tea, The Broadway, Bradford, on July 2, 2022.
Murphy pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on September 14, 2022.
