Campion hope to make the most of a reprieve when their West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division Cup semi-final against Hemsworth is replayed at Brighouse Town on Monday (11am).

Hemsworth won the original tie on penalties but the shoot-out was deemed invalid. Campion had been reduced to ten men and rules state that the shoot-out should be between the same number of players from both teams.

Hemsworth won on sudden death after all their 11 players had taken a spot kick and a Campion player had missed his second penalty. However, Hemsworth should have nominated a player to sit out the shoot-out.

Campion's appeal to the league was upheld by the West Riding FA and the sides must meet again.

Three successive victories have seen Wibsey climb out of the Premier Division relegation zone but they are not yet safe from the drop.

Tyersal, who after losing at relegation rivals Ovenden West Riding 4-2 in mid-week, have to win all their final three games, all at home, starting with the visit of Huddersfield outfit Golcar United on Saturday.

Meanwhile, clubs have voted to remove the rule that did not allow clubs playing in senior leagues, such as the Northern Counties East League, to play their reserves sides in the County Amateur.

This allows clubs throughout West Yorkshire in any higher league to apply to play a side in the league.
