A MAN has been jailed for assaulting police officers in Bradford.

Michael Phillips, 46, of Danecourt Road, Holme Wood, Bradford, was jailed for a total of 20 weeks.

He was committed to prison for 20 weeks for a charge of common assault on an emergency worker, a police officer. This took place in Bradford on June 25, 2022.

Phillips was committed to prison for 20 weeks, to run concurrently, for a charge of assault by beating of an emergency worker, a detention officer. This offence took place at West Yorkshire Police, Bradford, on September 18, 2022.

He was committed to prison for one week, to run concurrently, for a charge of failing to surrender to police/court bail at the appointed time. This took place on August 30, 2021 at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court. He was also ordered to pay as victim surcharge of £154. A collection order was made by the court.

He was given no separate penalty for a charge of being drunk and disorderly in a public place. This offence took place at The Light Cinema, Broadway, Bradford, on June 25, 2022.

Phillips pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on September 19, 2022.
