Silsden were edged out 1-0 by Farsley Celtic in the final of the West Riding County Football Association's Skipton Building Society Junior Shield for under-12s.

Silsden started brightly, most of the play involving Danny King and Harry Marshall down the right wing, but they couldn't find a way past a very solid defence.

Dylan Budge and Ben Ramsden were working hard trying to find opportunities to score, and the midfield of Ryan Narey and Josh Holt kept probing away but no clear-cut chances materialised for Silsden.

Farsley, who came more into the game after 15 minutes, took the lead after 27 minutes with a great move down the right, Jack Baker pulling off a great save but being able to do nothing about the follow up.

In the latter minutes of the first half, Silsden looked dangerous with Ben Addison and Josh Metcalfe having a bit of room on the left, forcing Farsley to defend deep.

In the second half, Ben Dakin replaced Addison and had a superb game at left back.

This half was similar to the first with man of the match Josh Brown and Ben Phillips solid in the heart of the defence.

As the game went on, Jack Roberts and Jack Leach were introduced and in the last ten minutes Silsden played their best football of the game and were very unlucky not to force an equaliser as they had the majority of possession.
