A 29-year-old man has gone on trial accused of attacking two brothers with a baseball bat.
Patrick Martin, of Thornton Road, Bradford, is said to have caused grievous bodily harm with intent to Stewart Wilkinson when he hit him with the bat during a confrontation outside Ravi's Takeaway, Bradford.
A jury at Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday how Mr Wilkinson and his wife Patricia had been out 16 months ago celebrating his brother Peter's birthday.
The court heard that while the group was inside they could hear Martin and another man arguing outside.
Mr Wilkinson said he went outside to ask what the problem was and Martin hit him on the left ear with the bat.
The prosecution alleges Martin also struck Peter Wilkinson above the eye.
Stewart Wilkinson denied suggestions from Martin's barrister Richard Gioserano that he, his wife Patricia and brother Peter attacked Martin.
Martin has denied one charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to Stewart Wilkinson and a further allegation of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in respect of his brother Peter.
The trial continues.
