Chris Bates scored four times for Halifax Irish as Keighley Shamrocks were condemned to relegation after just one season in the West Riding County Amateur League top flight.

Shamrocks' battle to beat the drop was brought to a conclusion with three games still to play as mid-table Irish won 5-0, Noel Whitaker having opened the scoring.
