A walker is hoping for contributors to add to a book he has written which follows the footsteps of a rambling legend.
In 1938 Alfred Wainwright, who became renowned for his Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland fells, walked from Settle to Hadrian's Wall and back.
Over 11 days he walked 200 miles and wrote an account of his journey which was published years later.
In September 1998, 51-year-old Ilkley financial adviser Andrew Lambert retraced Wainwright's steps.
Mr Lambert has written his own account but wants to produce a guidebook with a difference. He said: "The idea was for a guide that looked not at the geography of a walk but at its history."
Mr Lambert hopes that a major and essential part of the account's interest will come from anecdotal evidence provided by other contributors.
He is seeking anecdotes, either first-hand or from family history, that date back to approximately 1938 and relate to places that are associated with the route.
