A PUDSEY company awarded with a royal warrant has expressed its condolences after the Queen’s passing.

AW Hainsworth was awarded a royal warrant in 2004 and has since provided furnishing fabrics for Her Majesty the Queen.

Royal warrants are issued to companies that regularly supply goods or services to the Royal Family and display the Royal Arms on their packaging.

A spokesperson said: “We at AW Hainsworth & Sons are deeply saddened by the news of the Queen’s passing.

“We are honoured to have supplied Her Majesty with our furnishing fabrics, which adorn the inside of Royal residences, in addition to providing the striking scarlet cloth worn by the Royal Guards.

“This sad occasion will go down in our company’s history as a milestone, and be remembered as the end of an era.

“At this time our key focus as a business is to ensure that all colleagues are supported throughout this period of mourning.

“We are also keeping our attentions on any support we may need to give the Royal Family in the coming months, and to ensuring the continued supply of fabrics to the Palace and Guards to meet their needs in this momentous time.”

With the death of the Queen, the royal warrant for this product is now void and the company has two years to discontinue the use of the Royal Arms on the packaging and can apply for a new warrant from King Charles III.
