Tomorrow night Bradford's New Beehive Inn celebrates a year of stand-up comedy in the Westgate Columbus Comedy Cave.

A year ago there was no stage, no sound and not much of an audience. Since then, however, the monthly comedy night has gained in reputation with the likes of Tanya-Lee Davis, Shazia Mirza and Gary Delaney appearing here.

Headlining tomorrow night will be Mark Rough, right, who will also be celebrating a decade as a comedian. Support will consist of Bradford's own Ben Schofield. Music will be provided by Ashley Frieze.

Resident MC Mark Dennis commented: "It's amazing to think where we were 12 months ago and where we are now. To attract the calibre of the acts that we have speaks for itself.

"Columbus Comedy Cave is a very special night for the city. Instead of running the night for profit, we have invested everything into making the night better and better, and we will continue to do so."

  • Doors open tomorrow night at 8pm for an 8.30pm start. Admission is £7 or £5 for those who read this article. For every group of four friends paying, one gets in free.
