THIS was the scene at Booth's Supermarket Car Park in Settle earlier today when an elderly driver made the mistake of thinking her Land Rover Freelander was in reverse and collided with a parked car, ending up half-on and half-off its bonnet.
A team of firefighters were called out by supermarket staff who were concerned that the Land Rover was unsafe and might crash off the other car. The firefighters were able to reassure the supermarket staff and arrangements were made for the vehicles to be recovered.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said a call was received at 12.25pm today and was responded to by Bentham Fire Station.
The spokesperson said it was a minor incident with no injuries; firefighters were able to reassure the staff that the vehicles were safe, and arrangements were made for them to be recovered.
