A PETROL station in Pudsey had to close after the fire service was called to deal with a fuel leak.

Bradford Fire Station was called at 12.40pm today (Thursday) to reports of a fuel leak at Esso service station in Lowtown, Pudsey.

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: "It was a diesel leak from a pump. They isolated the fuel pump and cleared the area (of the spillage) using sand.

"The station was closed while they dealt with it, but they have finished at the scene and left it in the care of the garage."
