A THANKSGIVING service to honour the life of the Queen will be held in Bradford on the eve of her funeral.

Bradford Cathedral will hold a civic commemoration and thanksgiving for the life of Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II on Sunday, September 18.

Doors will open for the event at 6pm and the event will be held between 6.30pm and 8.10pm.

Following the service, there will be a chance to sign the cathedral’s book of condolence and light a candle, before the national minute's silence at 8pm is observed outside on the Cathedral green, alongside singing of the national anthem.

Members of the public are invited to attend the service, for the minute’s silence, or both. People can also watch the service via the Cathedral’s social media.
