A VENUE is holding a series of free live entertainment shows as a boost as the cost of living crisis bites.

Origin Live, based in Batley, will hold the free shows over the autumn, as boss Nick Westwell wants the site to be a beacon of positivity amid the UK’s overwhelming economic uncertainty.

The shows are: September 18: NAVI - King Of Pop (Michael Jackson’s Official Double); September 23: P!NK - Miss Understood (P!NK Tribute); September 25: The Eton Rifles (Mod, ska, two tone, new wave and northern soul).

Other shows are Maet Live (Meatloaf Tribute ft Craig Halford) on October 14.

Powerage UK (AC/DC Tribute Band) will perform on November 12 and Complete Madness (The UK’s No.1 Madness Tribute) take to the stage on December 2.

Mr Westwell said: “It’s not just the potential cost of energy that’s frightening everyone, the cost of living is increasing too.

“The chance of having any money left over after paying for bills and necessities is getting harder, but people still need to live life, socialise and enjoy the good things like leisure and entertainment.

"This is a small gesture to offer some relief and enjoyment to that community, from the troubles of the everyday”.
