BRADFORD Council has shared photographs of people paying their respects to the Queen following her death on Thursday.

A number of events have been held across the district following the Queen’s passing at the age of 96.

In line with the official protocols, the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Martin Love, has written a letter of condolence to King Charles III, and flags on council buildings and in parks across the district have been lowered to half-mast.

At 2pm today, the District Proclamation of Accession will be read in City Park by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant Helen Thomson, with the Lord Mayor of Bradford, the leader of the Council and the chief executive in attendance.

Everyone is invited to the reading of the District Proclamation, which will be followed by a multi-faith gathering for prayers and readings.

A service of meditation and prayer will also take place at Bradford Cathedral at 3.15pm on Sunday.

Books of condolence have been set up across the district, including at City Hall.
