THE DISTRICT Proclamation of Accession will be read in Bradford’s City Park tomorrow, following the death of the Queen and the proclamation of Charles III as king.

It will be read by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant Helen Thomson at 2pm, with the Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Martin Love, Lady Mayoress Helen Love, the Leader of the Council Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe and Chief Executive Kersten England in attendance.

It will be followed by a multi-faith gathering for prayers and readings at 2.30pm.

These will be led by the Rt Revd Bishop Toby Howarth, the Very Revd Andy Bowerman, Dean of Bradford and other leaders of the Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh faiths.

Guests include Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire Ed Anderson CBE, West Yorkshire Mayor Tracey Brabin, Chief Constable John Robins and Mrs Elizabeth Robins, Chief Superintendent Rob McCoubrey (Bradford District Commander), Bradford District Commander Benjy Bush (West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service), local MPs, chairs and mayors of local town and parish Councils, along with residents across the district.

A service of meditation and prayer will then take place at Bradford Cathedral at 3.15pm.
