A MAN must pay more than £1,000 after urinating in public.
Amar Hussain, 34, of Wensleydale Road, Laisterdyke, was charged with urinating in a street/public place in contravention of a byelaw.
According to court documents, Hussain committed the offence on May 20 this year, when he urinated at McQuades Court in York.
Court documents state “the defendant committed an indecent act by urinating in contravention of a byelaw, namely the City of York Council Byelaw made on April 6, 1998”.
It was proved in his absence at York Magistrates' Court on August 19.
He was fined £500, ordered to pay a surcharge of £50 to fund victim services, and was also ordered to pay £573.63 costs.
The total of £1,123.63 must be paid by September 16.
