The Yorkshire Educational Trust has appointed a new CEO with over 40 years of experience in the education industry.

Jayne Clarke has joined The Interaction and Communication Academy Trust (ICAT).

She founded and chaired the Bradford Partnership, seen as the forerunner to the UK academy system.

She was most recently Primary Director at Castlefield Trust, and in this role and prior to that in her role as a Headteacher, Jayne brought several primaries and secondaries to “Outstanding” Ofsted ratings, including schools and academies previously identified as being in “Special Measures”.

Jayne said: “My role at ICAT is about continual improvement - for the students above all else, and so for the individual academies and the trust.

“The ICAT has a strong heritage and some wonderful colleagues - I’m delighted to be joining it on the next stage of its journey.

“It will be about honest and open communications with families and carers, facing existing challenges, and building a strong plan for the future, that ensures all the learners are settled, safe and successful."

With three academies - Castlefield Trust in Huddersfield, High Park School in Bradford, and Milton School in Rotherham – as well as a learning centre, The ICAT specialises in meeting the educational needs of children and young people with a range of learning difficulties.
