A MAN has been fined for dodging a rail fare whilst travelling from Bradford Interchange, after using a Disabled Railcard discount.
Hamid Soori, 36, from Wakefield, has been fined for travelling between Bradford Interchange and Manchester Piccadilly on February 22, 2022, without paying the full £28.20 fare.
When Soori was asked to produce a ticket at Manchester Piccadilly he presented an Off Peak Day Return from Bradford to Manchester Stations with a Disabled Railcard.
He did not own a disabled card and was unable to present it.
His details were obtained, and he was advised the facts would be reported.
Following the incident, a letter was sent to the defendant requesting an explanation, as there was no response, a Fixed Penalty Notice was then sent.
However, this remains unpaid.
A Collection Order was made: he was fined £440, asked to pay a compensation of £28.20, a surcharge to fund victim services of £44, and costs of £150.
In total he was fined £662.20.
