A WOMAN has appeared in court for assaults on a police officer and a detention officer at a Bradford police station.

Isatou Jawo, 21, of Horton Grange Road, appeared in court on three charges.

In the first offence, assault by beating of an emergency worker, she assaulted a police officer acting in the exercise of his functions as such a worker, by beating him. This took place at Horton Grange Road, Bradford, on July 16, 2022. She was also ordered to pay £75 compensation, £85 costs and a £114 victim surcharge for this offence.

Jawo was also sentenced for a second count of assault by beating of an emergency worker, a detention officer. This offence took place at Trafalgar House Police Station, Nelson Street, Bradford, on July 16, 2022.

She was also sentenced for a charge of racially/religiously aggravated harassment/ alarm/distress by words/writing. This offence took place on Horton Grange Road, Bradford, on July 16, 2022.

Jawo was given a community order for the three charges which includes her being ordered to carry out 130 hours unpaid work in the community over the next 12 months.

Jawo pleaded guilty to all three charges and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on August 19, 2022.
