SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...asking police to come puppy shopping with them.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.
Please don't call the police to come puppy shopping with you, we do love dogs, however this is not a police or 999 emergency 🐶#nota999call #notapoliceemergency #woofwoof pic.twitter.com/Bj6nWH6wpp

The force receives 120 inappropriate calls each day, adding one is too many, as part of its #Not999 campaign.
And this one was no exception.
The team said: "Please don't call the police to come puppy shopping with you, we do love dogs, however, this is not a police or 999 emergency #nota999call #notapoliceemergency #woofwoof.”
