Police have arrested a man wanted for serious offences after going on the run.

Nikolas Balog was the subject of a wanted appeal by Bradford officers in connection with a serious sexual offence and burglary.

Police advised the public to not approach Balog.

He has since been found and taken into police custody. 

In a statement, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Nikolas Balog, who was the subject of a wanted appeal in Bradford last week, has been located and arrested.

"Thank you to everyone who assisted with our enquiries."

The 27-year-old is from London but was believed to have been living in the Bradford area.  

At the time of the appeal, Detective Inspector Ian Cottrell, of the Bradford District Safeguarding Unit, said: “Officers have conducted a number of enquiries to locate Nikolas Balog who we do believe is active in the Bradford area.

“We are advising the public not to approach him and would ask anyone who has information about his whereabouts to contact the Bradford Safeguarding Unit on 101 or online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat quoting crime reference 13220476737.

“Information can also be given in confidence to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 or online.”
