A HOUSE could have gone up in flames after a van was set on fire in a suspected arson.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) was called to a property in Westfield Lane, towards the Wrose end at around 11pm last night.
A large van was on fire in a driveway next to a house, so firefighters had to act quick and two crews (from Shipley and Bradford fire stations) were sent to the scene to prevent it spreading.
The crews managed to get the fire under control and then passed the matter onto police to investigate.
A spokesperson for Shipley Fire Station said it is a potential arson.
They added that the quick action of neighbours ringing 999 helped prevent the fire being worse.
The van's passenger compartment was completely lost by the end of the blaze and it is believed to be write-off.
