The cruel person responsible for dumping 11 newborn puppies which still had their umbilical cords attached has not been found.

The puppies were discovered in a rubbish bag by passers-by walking through a wooden area off Heath Lane, Huddersfield.

Heartbreakingly all but one in the litter, believed to be German Shepherd types, passed away from congenital defects or serious infections.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time or knows a dog who recently gave birth but doesn’t have a litter should contact the RSPCA’s appeal line, confidentially, on 0300 123 8018.

The only surviving puppy, named Tippy, has faced a long battle back to health.

The nine-week-old pup almost died three times due to urinary infections.

RSPCA deputy chief inspector Sara Jordan has hand-reared and nursed Tippy alongside vets.

Tippy is now set to embark on a new chapter of life with his forever home.
