A MAN has been jailed for a spate of thefts at shops in Bradford including from a branch of Poundland.
Christopher Ullah, 40, of HMP Prison Leeds, was jailed for a total of eight weeks for a number of theft from a shop charges.
In the first offence, he was committed to prison for eight weeks, for stealing Burberry gift sets, to the value of £130, from The Perfume Shop in Bradford. This offence took place on May 27, 2022. He was also ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.
In the second charge, Ullah was committed to prison for eight weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing a garden strimmer, to the value of £130, from Tesco in Bradford, on May 27, 2022.
The third offence saw Ullah committed to prison for eight weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing groceries and chocolate, to the value of £30, from Poundland, The Broadway, Bradford, on March 14, 2022.
The offences were deemed serious because they were aggravated by being committed while he was on bail. A collection order was made by the court at the hearing.
Ullah pleaded guilty to all three charges and was sentenced at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on August 17, 2022.
