A MAN has appeared in court after being caught speeding at more than 100mph on a Bradford motorway.

Obaid Hussain, 40, of Broomhill Terrace, Batley Carr, Batley, faced one charge of speeding – exceeding 70mph motorway limit – manned equipment.

He was caught driving a motor vehicle on the M606 junction two to M62 southbound, at a speed exceeding 70mph, when he was clocked at 110mph.

Hussain was handed six driving licence points, fined £196, ordered to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £34 victim surcharge for the offence. A collection order was made by the court at Hussain’s sentencing hearing.

Hussain pleaded not guilty at an earlier hearing but changed his plea to guilty. He was sentenced at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on August 10, 2022.
