A BRADFORD man has appeared in court on assault and affray charges.

David Culshaw, 25, of Chapel Street, Bradford, faced a charge of affray. He used or threatened unlawful violence towards another and his conduct was such as would cause a person at the scene to fear for their personal safety. It took place in Normanton, West Yorkshire, on September 1, 2021.

Culshaw was handed a community order and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge for this affray charge and was sentenced at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on August 22, 2022.

He was committed to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for two years, for a charge of assault by beating. This offence on another man took place on February 7, 2022.

Culshaw was also ordered to pay £200 compensation and a £128 victim surcharge for the offence.

He was also re-sentenced for a further assault charge. This took place on November 20, 2021 and involved Culshaw assaulting a woman. He was originally handed a community order for this offence on January 21, 2022.

Culshaw was committed to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for two years, to run concurrently for this offence when he was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on August 15, 2022.
